Benjamin grew up in Asheville in the Norwood Park and Lakeview Park neighborhoods, graduated high school at the top of his class at The Asheville School, graduated with a degree in Biology from Princeton University and then returned to Asheville during the economic doldrums of the late 1980s/early 1990s. After working in the local service industry for several years, purchasing his first house in the Five Points neighborhood of Asheville (where he still lives), and marrying Heather Rayburn in 1996, Benjamin earned his real estate license and worked for Gatewood-Boettcher Real Estate for several years before attending graduate school in Computer Science at the University of Tennessee Knoxville.
He returned to Asheville and worked as a Computer Systems Analyst for Buncombe County Government for 5 years, keeping his real estate license up-to-date but inactive and beginning to invest in residential rental real estate. After 5 years coding in the office and desiring to spend more of his time outside of the office and away from the computer, Ben resigned from his county job to pursue his real estate investment and management full time while studying Meteorology and Climate Science at UNCA. After earning his Masters, he applied that education to free-lance contract work in the climate-services field in addition to keeping up his investment and management work. A serious and difficult but ultimately successful battle with colon cancer slowed him down during this period, but emerging cancer free he re-activated his real estate license to once again apply his skills, talent and knowledge of the local market to helping others achieve their real estate goals.

My name is Rich Brownstein, and I've been a musician since before I can remember. I started piano lessons at the age of 4, and graduated high school from Interlochen Arts Academy. I got my undergraduate degree from NYU where I studied jazz piano and music technology. I grew up right outside of Boston, and although I haven't lived there in nearly 16 years, I'm a die hard Boston sports fan. After graduating NYU I got a job working for the legendary Cafe Wha? (where Jimi Hendrix was discovered, and Bob Dylan played his first shows in NYC) in New York City, where I was responsible for booking talent, marketing the club, customer inquiries, and the head agent for The Cafe Wha? House Band. As the head agent, I was in charge of hiring the band out for weddings, private functions, corporate events etc.
When I was 27, I wanted to pursue my dream of being a touring musician. Myself, and my girlfriend at the time who was the lead singer, convinced the entire band to leave their lives in New York, and move into a house together in Asheville NC. We played over 300 shows together and traveled as far south as Key West, and as far north as Boston.
I am still actively involved in music projects, but I turned to real estate after purchasing a 3,200 square foot log cabin that I turned into a successful vacation rental. My realtor got me an unbelievable deal on the property, and became a good friend of mine in the process. I decided wanted to help others in locating the perfect home for themselves. Specifically, I wanted to help buyers see past surface issues that are easily remedied, so they don't pass up on a property that is perfect for their needs. I almost did with the cabin, and I'm so happy I had the right guidance to let me know the things that weren't perfect could be dealt with, thus leaving me with the perfect property for me!

The influences on my life have been mostly formed by, “How am I going to take control of my life and what do I value the most?” I know the most standard answers are fulfillment and success in the workplace, a life outside of the workplace and strong family ties. To decide on the impact I expected to achieve, I knew I needed to have a self-awareness mentality determining what makes me happiest? The answer I can summarize into two words: “actively engaged”. If you are thinking that is a broad scope, you wouldn’t be wrong. Life has my full attention, and I do the things that make me feel the most joy.
Filling my cup has more often than not been harmoniously united with filling others’ cups, which lead me to obtaining a BS in Public Relations, Communications and Marketing and graduating Cum Laude from Western Carolina University. I knew I wanted to serve and be a reliable resource for my community, to establish a presence for growth. This desire is what launched me into the Real Estate Industry during college; how better to grow my community than from the heart of it, the people who live here and the people who want to live here? This notion has been my ambition since 2004 and I have successfully assisted in selling hundreds of homes within my community, with a list & sold volume exceeding $100 million dollars in home sales. I say “assisted” because real estate is a team effort embracing the network of professionals I have worked hard to cultivate relationships with and depend on. I was born and educated (business degree) in Hamburg, North Germany and have lived in the United States for more than 30 years. First in California, then New Mexico, Colorado, New York’s Hudson Valley and for the last fourteen years here in Asheville. I was originally born in Charlotte and but I began my Real Estate journey back in February 2007, in St. Augustine, FL. Little did I know the market would crash completely! I quickly became an expert in distressed properties and short sales and used this to help numerous families navigate these incredibly challenging times. I formed friendships with colleagues and clients but moved back home to the Lake Norman area (north of Charlotte, NC) in August 2011. It was time for me to be back with my family after having been gone 18 years. I worked as a Private and Personal Chef for a year after the transition to NC as I had worked with a girlfriend of mine doing catering in St. Augustine, and I really have a passion for food and cooking. But after a year or so of that, I knew it was time to go back to my true calling, which is helping people buy and sell homes. I sold Real Estate in the Lake Norman area for a few years, and during that time was introduced to a man who is now my husband. I relocated to Asheville 3 years ago and have since, been happily selling Real Estate all over Buncombe, Haywood and Henderson Counties.

Spending time with my husband, cooking, listening to music, walking around downtown, entertaining, working out, movies, books, blue clear skies, taking weekend getaways and also nice long vacations. We enjoy going out for drinks and dinner on the weekend and we're always up for finding some live music.
It really brings me joy to help people. There are so many factors and dynamics involved in someone buying or selling. I genuinely care about my clients and I want what's best for them and their particular situation. Most have become lifelong friends and contacts, because we develop a relationship and I really want to maintain communication with them.
I can cook! For whatever reason, I am a pretty good cook and I love to entertain and have dinner parties, brunches, parties, you name it. I can also say the alphabet backwards. Ha! I also used to be a hairdresser, so on occasion I break out the shears and give a loved one a shaping.
The weather here is fantastic - we really do get 4 seasons. I love the low humidity, the cool summer nights and always having a view of the mountains. Even if it's just coming out of grocery shopping, there is something pretty to see. The restaurants are fabulous and there is honestly always something fun going on. Then once or twice a year, we get a snow day, and I have my nose pressed to the window like a little kid.
I love the Admiral for a delicious meal. I love all the new rooftop bars for sunset views and being outside. I'm always a fan of Pack's Tavern and Twisted Laurel for good drinks and food. And for weekend cocktails and music I love 5 Walnut and Tressa's.

Martin first came to Asheville in 1985 straight out of college to work at the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain. After falling in love with the Blue Ridge Mountains and during his second summer in Asheville, he met Christine and settled down in the Asheville area. He has worked at various jobs, including Telemon Corporation and Catholic Social Services, before finding his niche in real estate in 1995.
Christine is the Licensed Executive Administrator and Closing Coordinator for The Luna Team and has lived in the Asheville/Weaverville area for 38 years having moved here from South Florida. She has worked as a legal secretary, a hotel manager, has been a full time Mom of 4 children, and for the last 11 years as the Administrator for The Luna Team before getting her real estate license in 2014.
Alan Estrada, Buyer's Agent, is the newest addition to The Luna Team. He is fluent in English and Spanish and is ready to help buyers in this exciting real estate market.

As a teen, I started building houses with my father. I eventually ran his framing crew and started my own hardwood flooring business for a time. I had my first daughter Arella about this time and she was the start of the four best things in my life. My career then turned to commercial construction management. Originally from Wilson, N.C., I grew up knowing how important home is. I loved those days of running around the neighborhood to friends' houses and bike riding with the family. After college in Wilmington, I was a business reporter, and I covered real estate as part of my beat, never knowing one day that is the career direction I'd be called to. Since moving to Asheville, I've lived everywhere from Leicester to Bent Creek to near downtown and now Oakley and have worked in Waynesville. Leslie Christoffel began her career in the housing industry in Asheville, N.C. After earning a B.A. in Media Communications from N.C. I realize this is an oxymoron but I am a city girl from Asheville. I grew up in North Asheville, went to schools in Asheville, never lived anywhere but Asheville. Obviously, I love Asheville. My education was at AB Tech, UNCA and Western Carolina in Business and Accounting. My husband, Larry, and I owned and managed a trucking business for about 20 years. A North Carolina native, Ken has lived in the Asheville area for almost 30 years. While attending N. C. State University in the 1970’s Ken became familiar with the Asheville area on rock climbing and backing trips in many of our mountain’s scenic areas. His love of mountains took him west to graduate school at the University of Utah, where skiing and river running were favorite pursuits. That same love of mountains and the outdoors took him to the Pacific Northwest where sailing and skiing interests complemented a career in education at the University of Puget Sound. Eventually the beauty and culture of the Blue Ridge Mountains called him home and he returned to Asheville in 1989, joining the faculty at Asheville Buncombe Community College.
