Buying a Home in Weaverville, North Carolina

We all want to own a little piece of paradise. If paradise for you means quiet countryside, peace and quiet, and easy access to the incredible mountains of Western North Carolina, Weaverville is the place for you.

Weaverville is just minutes outside Asheville and is one of our favorite hidden gems in the local real estate market. There’s something for every buyer in Weaverville, from starter homes and fixer-uppers to new constructions and luxury real estate. The best part—almost every home in Weaverville comes with beautiful views and large lots.

Outdoor Activities in Weaverville

Weaverville is located just outside Asheville city limits, but you’ll think you’re in the distant countryside. Weaverville and its surrounding communities are built on rolling hills and steep mountain passes, with plenty of grassy farmland, wild flowers, and trees to watch change with the seasons.

Weaverville is home to one of the Asheville area’s most iconic parks— Lake Louise Park. The park is just outside Downtown Weaverville and has a beautiful fishing pond, a playground, and a nature trail. Be sure to stop by the waterfall, a favorite spot for photographers.

Weaverville also is right in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Parkway. A drive through the incredible Ox Creek neighborhood will bring you to the perfect spot on the Parkway, just a few miles from the Craggy Gardens and Craggy Pinnacle hiking trails. This section of the parkway is also a great place to catch the Mountains-To-Sea Trail for a lengthier hike.

Things to Do in Weaverville, NC

Of course, there’s still plenty to do in Weaverville for the less outdoorsy folks in the crowd too. The brewery and restaurant scene in this small town is nothing to scoff at. We bet within a few weeks of moving here you’ll be avoiding the traffic and parking garages of Asheville for a quiet night out in this wonderful, quaint community.

Foodies will want to check out Stoney Knob Café, an old-school diner on the outside with high-camp décor and incredible fine dining dishes. If you’re already downtown, stop in at Glass Onion for delicious Italian classics and a cozy, homey atmosphere. Asheville favorite Twisted Laurel also has a location a few blocks down and has a menu complete with the local chain’s famous Philly steak sub.

Beer nuts will become regulars at Zebulon Artisan Ales and Eluvium Brewing Company. No Western North Carolina town is complete without at least a few local breweries, right? Zebulon can be a little tricky to get in—their tasting room is only open Friday and Saturday from 1-6pm—but is well worth the effort to get their farmhouse-style beers packaged in 750 ml bottles. Eluvium is slightly more conventional with their hours (they’re only closed on Tuesday), but their selections of unique brews are equally delicious.
